those who are worried about GW have little to gain personally from advancing their views, whereas those who think it's an imaginary phenomenon are allied with unbridled capitalistic exploitation of the planet for financial gain.

This is the spin that the Fraudsters would like you to believe, nothing could be further from the truth. I resent reading that Al Gore is a fat capitalistic pig. There is nothing capitalistic about Al Gore. A capitalist shows up in the free market with a good or service to sell to the discriminating public. A Fraudster goes to the government with lies and has the government pass laws that forces the public to buy the Fraudster’s product. Haven’t you figured out why this is not being reported in the mainstream media yet?

It's not as severe a case of repression of science as it was when the Inquisition tried to suppress Galileo

You obviously haven't been following this to closely. People die when they don't have access to energy.

I would favor a very large investment by the Syncrude project to reduce CO2 emissions

I wouldn’t. CO2 is a beneficial gas that adds to the life of this planet.

And the Atlantic Ocean is made out of grapefruit juice.

You seem to be pretty naive about the stakeholders in this.
