Hi Michael. Great reply. Thanks for the clarification re ZTE, which I'd also had some afterthoughts about, but beyond the 15 minutes allowed by the edit timer. I actually researched it further, at the time, however, and soon came to see the error of my ways, but I didn't send out a correction due to sheer laziness, I suppose. So I'm glad you cleared the air. Througout the remainder of your message I couldn't help but equate the term "military" in the Chinese sense with that of the combined establishment here in the US back in the Sixties comprised of NSF, the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), NASA, et al., when instead of civilianization, this country pulled all of the stops in achieving dominance in celestialization, triggered by Russia's first salvos a decade earlier. Since those earlier, epic times, however, we seem to have taken our eye off the leadership role we once played in certain areas. E.g., related to civilian communications (read: broadband), for one - and find ourselves merely prodded, frequently, to do better, but often seemingly based on what others around the globe are doing. The Sputnik Syndrome, if you will. Alternatively, by whatever imperfections the two prevailing monopolies (with a few exceptions) find to arbitrage in one another's armorments as they continue on their respective approaches to playing broadband chicken.
