What is that line about good intentions? It seems we all need to really think BEFORE we commit troops, when emotions are at the highest, logic is often ignored. I don't buy the "we broke it we must fix it line", we did not break Afghanistan, it was already broken. I am not sure more American blood should be spilled for these people. And I have a hunch that if Ted Kennedy was alive he would be against any escalation of the war over in Afghanistan -- and we know Obama would not be president without the strong endorsement of Ted Kennedy. I think politicians often ask too much from our troops. Our military is designed to destroy our enemies. Yet these days we ask them to kill the enemy, then build up their nation into a functioning democracy. This is a task that requires the locals to be willing to die for democracy; yet we have seen that is often not the case. Since WWII we have not had a clear cut war where our troops had a clear mission. In Afghanistan we have mission creep once again, and that is why these wars go on and on and on. I wish Obama and EVERYone in CONgress would watch this video -- the ANA (the Afghan National Army) is totally stoned and not committed to fighting for their own country...IMO, the whole Afghan war is based on fraud & economic opportunism...Don't believe what most in the corporate media tell you...This independent film shows the truth about what is happening over in Afghanistan -- there is no "winning" over there...WATCH THIS VIDEO and tell me that you think it's wise to send more of our young soldiers over to the mountains of Afghanistan...Watch this, then tell me how we're supposed to "finish" the job: Inside Afghanistan-Fighting Alongside Stoned Afghan Soldiersyoutube.com Obama should be listening to folks like Bill Moyers and Oliver Stone...Most of the top Generals and "experts" around Obama are in bed with the Military Industrial Complex.
