I take an eclectic approach to ideas. As I believe we are all limited in our thinking we all make mistakes in our thinking all the time.

And most people think they do not need any more information than what they have at hand e.g. Palin and Bush.

Friedman is best at connecting ideas e.g. he said if we are not nation buidling, but want to build a 400,000 Afghan army, what is that army based on i.e. who pays them?

Afghanistan cannot afford a 400,000 man army, so there is the equaton which shows Obama's plan is doomed to defeat.

Obama does not see that.
