Music is one - seedsanctuary.com

Got three distinct others, named for people i got them from, no idea of exact varieties, heard some guesses on a couple but don't know, it would be interesting to know but not essential ... one i call tall russian, another short russian [but it is still quite tall, over four feet to top of flowerhead when you let the scapes run], origin of the latter seems to be doukhobor, Grand Forks area, one thing i like about it is it gives fairly large bulbils which are easier to save and more worthwhile to plant than others, also you can pickle them some say but i prefer cloves for that

Better to plant in fall than spring, can't do it after the ground is frozen though ... some say you can't plant after first hard frost even if ground thaws out, well i have and it worked fine, didn't see any difference between that and some planted weeks earlier ... mind you that would have been still december, don't know about planting january or later ... what's most important imho is to not let the clove freeze too hard before it has roots lower [use lots of mulch]

Easiest thing to grow that i know of, except maybe cilantro ... on varieties, imho many have been re-named multiple times, it's so easy to transport and stick in anywhere, you just never know, and there are so many similarities between groups ... pretty much all mine are porcelains, got a couple of odd things in a Misc patch, don't know where one came from ... in re purple stripe, Music has some purple to it

Garlic and tulips - same family, Lily -g- ... but no way a tulip could inspire the same passion, or be such an aphrodisiac when eaten by two, much less such an effective contraceptive when only one partakes
