There surely is so much to read and learn about. I'm really in to historical novels that discuss science, politics, and the events that led up to why things are the way they are today. Everything our ancestors did reflect upon our society today. This stuff fascinates me.

Went through a China stage, a Russia stage a small amount of Europe stage, and now concentrating on the U.S. stage, but lord knows I'll never read it all or understand most of it.

:) I read no novels except mysteries for 'light' reading. And we finished the house for christmas season today. I love enjoying the decorations.

Consider James Lee Burke's "Swan Peak." Just finished it on my trip to DC. It's a decent book, though nothing like some of his earlier work. Being a Suh'therner, you might enjoy his "White Doves at Morning."
