My dad grew up in rural Michigan and taught me to drive the high points of a dirt road, ridges not the ruts- this tends to level the road with continued use and keeps you from high-centering. What kind of knucklehead drives through puddles on purpose anyway? You never know what is at the bottom of a puddle or how deep it is.
