Jack, I think the hair is split.... guess what..churches should be inclusive....they should always be wesleys in their songs<g> Just like the Wesley's played them to. By the way....Have you ever heard a Wesley song where the fiddle prophecied<gg> or the drums prophecied <gg> or with a fiddle reprise<ggggg>? Yes...still a Wesley song. and what about Holy Holy Holy with a rock guitar reprise.... There are some Wesley hymn No 288 that you wouldn't recognize<gggggg> but, they should also do it the old fashion way some times to.
