You present the argument and you shouldn't be surprised if people respond to it, even if you didn't directly state it in your own words, or even if you disagree with it.

Also when I initially responded to the idea with "Tax policy for a $13tril+ economy shouldn't revolve around a $43bil a year program."

If you think reluctance to raise taxes in the face of spending of such size is being soft on structural deficits, that implies either that you think tax policy should change with every modest change in government spending, or that you think being soft on structural deficits is fine. From your other posts I assumed it couldn't be the later, which leaves us only with the former.
