Thanks... how big is your locality? When my parents lived near Missoula, they had care for their dog that was significantly less than the Seattle vets.

The downside of overpriced care is skipping it altogether (same as with people). We need to find a cheaper clinic even if it's 10 or 15 miles away.

I almost forgot, my wife and I went to our dermatologist recently. The cash price for the check-up was $200, and she had a couple very minor things done plus a wart burn, and the extra for that (cash) was $450 (!).

I remember when my regular doctor did the liquid nitrogen on a couple warts, all as part of the regular checkup.

Our current doc won't do the wart removal himself, and refers you. So if you get a physical and need a wart removed and are paying cash and see these two doctors, then the physical (with blood workup) is about $400 and the wart removal another $600.

No wonder the life expectancy in the US lags so far behind other countries.
