While I bring little to no technical expertise to this thread, I like to think that I bring some common sense. Here are some points that I think make VLNC an unbelievable (speculative) buy -

1) It's speculative because they don't have revenues as of yet, and have not officially accomplished their commercial production goals pretty much making VLNC an R&D company. However, if you believe the posts here, in the Red Chip, in the investment community, and general feeling, they are CLOSE! How many biotech companies are trading at ridiculous Book Value ratio in the hope of discovering the cure to cancer and aids?

2) It has pretty much been confirmed by all industry experts that lithium polymer is the next greatest battery technology that will last a long time in the current portable marketplace. So, it's not a matter of if, but when Valence can make it a commercial reality.

3) The extent of professional analyst coverage of Valence is incredible. The Red Chip covering Valence is a confirmation that they're for real, so it certainly is not an IDID or BreX scandal. Also, the money managers that participate in the conference call are not nickel and dime players, but represent some of the biggest firms in the world. Also, the dartboard portfolio analysts pick of Vlnc, and other prominent analysts favorable comments make VLNC an explosive stock.

4) I very much agree that the price and volume reversal that occured this past Tuesday, from $6 to $8 was VERY SIGNIFICANT. IMO, it showed that some strong hands moved in to scoop up the shares that some individuals lost with stop losses and margin calls. Again, it's not a matter of if, but when VLNC announces significant progress with their production efforts and OEM deals. It's no secret that they keep in constant contact with players from MOT and HWP, as well as all other big electronics OEMs. Given the past debacle of promises in 1991 (which I believe ULBI is heading toward), VLNC is being very careful not to announce anything until after the fact. Unfornuate for the stock short term, but for long term holders, it will pay off.

5) This stock has basically moved 100% this year, from around $4 to $8, so there won't be many tax loss sellers. In fact, IMO, there will be a slow and gradual appreciation in price before year-end.

6) I've followed this stock since 1991, going from $13 to $26 to $1.5, and now back to $8. $26 happened with OEM deals with MOT and HWP. Deals, not actual production and shipment. It'll happen again with deals, and after production and shipment, and increase in capacity and good news, could easily be a $1B stock, putting the price around $50.

It's interesting to see the increased interest and participation in this thread. To all, keep up the great research work, and report in often. Shared information is power, and money!

Good luck to all.

$32M Irish gvt rebate:

This would be non-recurring income.
While it would help the companies
cash position and book vaule, it should
not considered as earnings in the normal
PE ration type earnings - because it won't
happen again. This is a one-time event,
right?

Anyway, the rebate should not be considered
when calculating a stock evaluation based
on 30X earnings (or whatever other multiple
you might chose).
