Fire Sale on Syjet

On Syquest's web page, they are lowering the price of an external scsi Syjet to $299. So with a trade-in, you can get an external/internal Syjet for $199. This is a great deal for consumers. They've even lowered the cartridge price to $79.99. So if any body has any old bernoullis, syquest drives or cd rom players, you can purchase a SYjet for $199 which I assume includes a 1.5 GB cartridge.(hopefully?!). That's quite a deal.

I don't see how Syquest makes any money with lower and lower margins. Their revenue report was very disappointing and I was surprised the market didn't push their share price down lower. I thnk the big event will be the implementation of SparQ and Rocket development. However, I suspect they're almost ready to roll out Syjet II and SparQ to take over from the SYjet I and EZ Flyer lines.

Syquest must make the EZ Flyer cartridge compatible to SparQ in order for EZ Flyer owners to migrate their investments of cartridges to a higher capacity drive. The drive is not what's important, it's the cartridges and I totally agree with you on this.
