I'd really appreciate that kind of test- since it would pick up things like fatique and illness, and I'd like those accounted for, since they cause a lot of accidents. All I really want is a pilot or other professional who can perform. I don't care WHY they can perform, and I don't care what they've been doing with their free time. I just want them in good shape to do what they need to do.

So true. If one eats a poppy seed bagel, one will test positive for opiates. So one can be fired from a job for being a heroin addict without ever having tried it.

Personally, though, I hate it when my pilot is on acid. The cabin announcements can be so unnerving. "Ladies and gentlemen, we are cruising at an altitude of ... Oh, my God! That is the most beautiful cloud I've ever seen! Oh, shit! Your face is melting!"
