Heck, they can even structure this so that it makes money overall for the government. They could but they won't. Sadly, I've come to the conclusion that all except the Blue Dog faction of the Democratic Party is willing to shovel the money out the govt. door as fast, and as willy-nilly as they can. I don't know if they're totally ignorant of the mounting deficits, don't care, or will accept it just to stay in office. So much of the money doesn't even get in the right hands. Last spring we took advantage of the $1500 energy tax credit in the stimulus package to replace our aged furnace. We don't need help to buy a furnace but will take it if the govt. offers. I'm sure we'll see if we can qualify for any of the money in the coming "Cash for Caulkers" stimulus package.
