I assume they are corporations and then it could be at anytime they choose their fiscal year to start/stop? I heard most funds qtr ended Oct31?

A tax loss is locked in at any sale prior to year end. You don't have to wait for the end of December? I bet most funds are now buying ASND and their yr end losses are locked in for the fiscal '97 year. As an example. A lot of institutions did not want it on their books so it was sold prior to Oct.31 I believe they are free to buy back now at lower prices and this makes them look good for 1998.

I still feel Nov 11,1997 is the next big day in the near future for RMBS.
