John; Very interesting intellectual. PhD from Harvard in economics; was quite frankly screwed when he came up for tenure there. I had already decided he was an interesting intellectual. I was way past wikepedia and past his web page and into some of his writings' A bit of definitional work on the use of the word "hard" before a left or right political judgment. It generally connotes an ideologue, You don't think of Krugman as an ideologue? Gosh I sure do. A keynesian embracing ideologue. His proposals for more spending are NOT open for debate - that's an ideologue isn't it? steve
