Dear Columbus-----------always being picked on--------when Columbus Day comes there are always net arguments about--Did Columbus discover America?

Then there is the discussion about who is related to Columbus in Portugal and Italy,-----there are several claims made in those countries about Christopher Columbus's heritage.

Don't have the documentation handy on that---------it is rather fascinating to read----just search and think you will find.

Because of my own heritage----I do claim to be related to a
Christopher Columbus XXXXXXXXX. There were about 5 generations in America that used 'Christopher Columbus as the given names on one side of the family.

I have a picture of the Great, Great Grandfather Christopher------he was quite a character, in the picture he wears a cross around his neck which indicates, according to some who have seen the picture, that he was Catholic.

I have also been told that many seafaring people who came to America often wore a cross around their neck.

Perhaps this association came from St. Christopher being the Saint of travelers.

Don't know-------just writing and rambling here.
