Well, that helps a bit. You were perilously close to arguing that he was an ideologue because he disagreed with you. As for that definition of an ideologue, there are more definitions of that term than there are worlds, or however that quote goes. That's why I've been trying to say what I meant when I used it. I've used it two ways: rigidly adhering to a political point of view; and insisting that the data (or the world, just to be a bit dramatic) had to fit your political point of view.
