You're right--you never argued for self-regulation, and it was a rant.

But

the securitizations created from the mid-80's through 2005 did a lot of good all around. If we ever get sound regulation again, we will be aiming to get back to that kind of credit market functionality.

I'm not sure I see what the "lot of good all around" was.
