We are still in the early stages of development. Civilization is at most maybe 5000 years old. Engineering and sciences are maybe several hundred years old. Cosmically speaking we are just emerging from primordial slime.

Using a baseball analogy and comparing where we are wrt to winning the World Series, we have not even reported to spring training with the pitchers and catchers.

We have just scratched the surface of regression analysis, string theory, and other higher forms of mathmatics.
