While a factor, I doubt it is very large. That study seems biased in the opposite direction not neutral. For example an error margin will likely simply cause the temperature to lag so that the highs will be lower, and the lows higher, but would have little effect on temperature. Placing them next to air conditioners and hot cliffs is another matter.
