Z, I think the e-mails are proof that there is a real conflict of interest when it comes to global warming research. If funding depends on a certain conclusion being reached, the temptation to reach that conclusion no matter what is too big to ignore.

However, I don't think it's enough to disprove the theory of global warming. But I do think it's enough to refine the rules and procedures by which scientific data is obtained, reported, and reviewed. It's also enough to consider cutting off funding to that research institution until those problems are fixed.
