I don't want to be a 'trusted' member, a member with potential, or subject to any other hierarchical gradation. Not only do I find the ranking offensive but, like Groucho, I don't want to be a member of any group that will have me. Please don't tag me with labels I reject as a matter of principle. I am interested in a free market for ideas and lively discussion wherever it may occur. I have two brief observations for you: first, lively discussion essentially ceased during Jay's brief absence. If you wish to keep this place alive in the SI free market, I suggest that you ask yourself why. Second, the best moderators have a very light hand. Antagonizing your 'customers' is not likely to lead to return visits.
