Free range, pastured eggs are available at Whole Foods and in most grocery stores. I get mine at Whole Foods. The brand I prefer is Soncrest. Very, very good eggs, and not much more expensive than the industrial kind, which are horrible and not very good for you.

If I could, I would have a couple of fat hens like the ones in the photo.

For all the bad PR they get, most of which is the result of bad science, non-industrial eggs like those Rose showed are just about perfect from a nutritional standpoint.

i'm happy to say that some city planners
are getting with the program .... vancouver
for example, now allows homeowners to raise
a flock of backyard chickens - maximum of
six i believe - but no roosters allowed.

our hens are called lucy and leni and they
come running to us as well. its very good
for the ego <vbg>
