Well we have had cheap fuel to burn for a number of years and we didn't worry about the consequences of doing that. Simply dumb and happy!

Unfortunately those days are coming to an end over the next twenty to forty years. Fuel costs (fossil) in inflation adjusted terms will shortly head up as they get rarer and more difficult to get out of the ground. We are at roughly $73 per bbl today. Oil is not cheap on a historical basis now and it's gonna get much worse.

Frankly I find the politics entertaining and sad. The ignorance out there is simply astounding. Our world 100 years from now will be radically different from an energy perspective. JMHO
