>> PS: My 245 acre lake has frozen over for the first time in the 12 years I've lived here.

Global Warming, man. Huge problem.

I recommend you quit heating your home and for damned sure do NOT drive self-powered vehicles. You do have horses, right?

In the trilogy I recommended, the entire east coast freezes solid @ 50 degrees below due to "global warming" when the Gulf Stream stops circulating.

The predictions AREN'T for an evenly warmed globe, but disrupted weather patterns around the world, with a warming that will melt the polar ice caps. Go up there, and you'll be SURE it's getting WARMER. Just look at some satellite photos over time or take a cruise through the now-open Northwest Passage.

Some things that ARE predicted, desertification where crops are grown now, monsoon rains in other areas, freezing in some places year round and fairly far south, flooding in ALL low lying coastal areas, like S. Florida and Bangladesh. Some places will go underwater entirely, like the Maldive Islands.
