I take the position that the fastest way to alternative fuels is to run out of the one you're using. Maybe not fastest - but damned effective. And using food to create a "crude" to refine is stupid when it's already sitting in the ground waiting to be pumped out. Something about starving Africans...Bingo!!! Climate change is to blame because all these jackasses drove food prices higher by switching out crops for Ethanol.
