Office Max had an ad in the Sunday paper here for a nicely configured CTX w/Cyrix chip for $699, right beside a Packard Bell identical, except for the PentiumII, for $999. So cracks in the publicity are starting.

What Ted "took my lithium today" Turner needs to do is sponsor a $499 Web-ready computer, including monitor, for third-world schools, inner city kids, etc. This could be done with the C6, not a lot of frills but the hardware is going for cheap cheap: 300MB hard disk, 28.8 modem, small single speaker -- it could be done.

Centaur's homepage has a "resellers" page that lists two distributors: Hamilton-Hallmark and Wyle. In looking through the Hamilton-Hallmark page, I could not find the C6 listed in the microprocessor section or in the New Products section. If it really is not advertised there, perhaps it is because H-H also sells a huge amount of AMD, Intel and Motorola products. IDT might want to press H-H to do a better job of bringing its products to its customers' attention.
