The chocolate does add an interesting "mystery" flavor.

I made two large pots last month to take up to dad's weekend at my daughter's college. What we didn't finish in the weekend I left and reports were it was finished off in short order. It's a very different recipe from my usual "Chili for a Crowd," which includes dijon mustard among the ingredients.

does that chocolate give the chili a "sweet" taste. I don't think I'd care for that as I don't like many sweets (except ice cream).
