Lieberman's ties to the health insurance industry have been known for a long time. Given the signature aspects of healthcare insurance reform for the Dems and Lieberman's desparate and very public need to keep his position as the chair of the Homeland Security Committee, his dilemma seemed pretty obvious.

What's baffling to me is how he's played it. Prima donna is a kind word.

I really don't see him becoming a Republican since he would occupy a place to the left of Snowe and Collins on social issues. Uniquely unoccupied at the moment.
