I hope he gets no support from the Dems when his term is up.

That will be interesting. He will, of course, be unable to run in the Dem primaries since he's not a Dem. Or, if he switches back, he will have formidable opposition. All the big players in Conn will assume he's very weak, and will be certain to run.

And if he runs as an independent, he will get almost no votes from the Dems; and the Reps are likely to run a strong candidate. Again, under the strong theory, that since Lieberman is weak there is a good chance they can take the seat.

He's gone, but not for some time.
