Like Bush did with the TARP? Absolutely NO conditions THERE. Obama's the one that had them pay it back or have their compensation limited.

As you know I was opposed to TARP for this very reason -- it was happening too quickly for sensible arrangements to be negotiated. As it turned out, Bush's fast action on TARP is all that saved the economy.

I was simply pointing out that Obama's whining, at this point, isn't going to help. You have to create some incentive for the banks to lend money or they're not going to do it.

And I do believe, as I've said here, that it made sense for Obama to apply pressure on them to repay their loans. It is one of the few things Obama has done which I agree with.
