Hang in there Alexa! One day when your hair has turned grey, your teeth have started falling out and you've finally given up on the cellulite war, you too will be able to look upon you're beautiful young and rich neighbors who are paying ridiculous amounts for their house mortgage and taxes and smile. In the 70s those CHEAP 40K and 50K mortgages were like Hell's Own Anchors, for those long enough of tooth to remember. Mine was 42K and it took fully a third of my gross income to meet its demands every month. Then in December the tax man cameth. We voted those greedy assessors down the Prop 13 river, and would do it again in a minute, given the chance. And oh yes, didn't they tell you ? There will be 50 million people living here in California by the time your mortgage is paid. And what will they be willing to pay for a roof ?
