There was false data from tree rings indicating a temperature decline. The data was inaccurate, and they used different data that gave the actual temperatures during that period rather than the tree rings, which gave an approximation.

Do you have any idea what that was in reference to? Not to mention, it was "hidden" in a publicly published paper. Along with their rationale for doing so.

It is not like it was a big secret. And nicely illustrates why they aren't real eager to share anything with the wingnut bloggers.
