"BTW didn't you homeschool? Enough said."

I have one kid still at home who is in public school. She is a clear two years plus ahead in the middle school core curriculum. She has advanced classes in the electives of Music and Creative Writing. She does amazing adult level fine art work but they don't have a program at school on that level. She was recently given the school kindness award where she attends a 1500 student middle school. The staff gave her the award at a breakfast hosted by the staff. She has normal healthy relations with her classmates, who've commented that she is the most polite friend they have, and she is involved in clubs outside of school. I am 100% with her in all of this, as she is never alone at home work. She has done lots of academic extension at home: if you want to call that home school then she gets both...which should be the standard for every child, with parents in charge of academic growth and achievement, not you self important paid hirelings with teaching certs. It's amazing to me that there are so many certified teachers who couldn't pass basic academic competency exams themselves, and who have no clue on how to guide the motivation of children. Parents beware.

"there are lot of crazy people in this country who have their own concocted theories about everything"

Noted: However, I always consider the source of such comments.
