"A bunch of e-mails with unknown contents is considered more newsworthy than a bunch of e-mails with cherry picked, mis-understood and edited content, all because of political ideology." Fixed.

Oh, the Left just wets itself in excitement at the possibility, however remote, than some Bush administration official zigged when he should have zagged, or god forbid, ordered a pizza while working late and charged it to his expense account. It doesn't bother them that Obama uses FDR-styled fascist tactics to consolidate political power. But heaven help us if they find some meaningless, borderline, nickel-and-dime infraction in Bush's 22,000,000 emails.

I fell behind again but just started a three week vacation, so I should be able to catch up and stay caught up for a bit. I don't usually like to play Tim Fowler and respond to old posts, but I saw CJ didn't respond to this satisfactorily, so here goes... Back during one of the Bush admin scandals -- I think it was the US Attorney purge but maybe the Plame scandal -- the special prosecutor (or was it Congress?) tried to get his hands on the White House e-mails from the relevant period, and was told that they were all "accidentally" irretrievable deleted. I remember that we on this thread discussed whether or not that was even possible, and I took the position that a good techie could recover those e-mails. Well, those were the e-mails that were recovered... Unfortunately, in the ten days since you made your post, the media decided not to pay attention to the story and it's over. It actually got much less attention in the press than the silly climate e-mail thing. -Z
