yes, it does make sense. it is eyes... the training from a young age. and the hearing, as well... how does a hunter 'hear' a soft footstep from far away when a city person... with all the noise they hear every day manage to achieve that isolation of sound, and what the sound is, and exactly where it is coming from?

it's not that a city person might not learn it, but that it is a very new world and visual and aural experience. on the other hand, where if a soldier is put in an urban enviroment, the urban soldier might do better, being used to the bustle and noise and seperation of sounds and scents. but...

do urban americans tend to really learn about scent?

smile. sometimes I think maybe I am not really human but some beast being with my nose to wind. "hmmm, bbq two miles north by north west, and the... hmmm, a whiff of wamth on the air, I think that might be a hot tub"
