You said "at NO COST". There is no such thing. MCI isn't going to give its lines to FTEL for free to take away its own market. At the moment FTEL is only demonstrating the capability for free, they are still paying the people they lease the lines from. For FTEL to make money, they will have to charge for the capability. I think the place FTEL will make money is in selling the Tempest gateway (and their other products like the channel banks etc). The long distance service demo is really a proof of concept whatever they may say.

FTEL is one of many companies that build VoIP gateways. There are others like VocalTec, Netspeak, Inter-Tel, Mitel, Lucent, Micom, Clarent, and many others I am sure. Hopefully it will be a player. Everyone, please do your own research before investing in any company mentioned on this thread.
