This is the 2nd time this week I've read on SI that the fired US attorneys weren't Republicans or were Clinton appointees or something. It's just nuts. For the conventional reality minded:

The dismissed U.S. Attorneys had all been appointed by President George W. Bush and confirmed by the Senate, more than four years earlier. en.wikipedia.org

The wikipedia article has links to individual bios for all the attorneys involved plus references to contemporaneous news coverage. Not that any of that makes any difference.

The appointees were not Republican. If they were they would not have made it to be the scandal it wasn't.
