robert, it's simple..the soul and the spirit are separate. We talk about 7 states of demonic attack upon a person. their could be many more than that 7. We say we are 3 parts...but,we may be four parts-- spirit,soul,body and heart. All this is really interesting but not all that important. Let me assure you..nothing can co-habit your spirit when you are saved....that is light and in it there is no darkness. but, there is more than just spirit in us. Question???? what are the 7 states of demonic attack upon a person... there is possession and oppression...what are the other 5 ??? I do agree that there should be scripture... there are no scriptures that say a demon cannot be in us.. only scriptures that say they cannot be in our spirit if we are saved. With repsect to demons. It's easier to know the scripture when there is experience. Only Jesus can cast out demons. Has Jesus used you to cast out demons and have you done this(In His Name). I would only face the power of a demon with Jesus and His Name. Even the strongest and smartest person can be destroyed by the weakest demon. The Name of Jesus is the only over demons. Most times deliverance is nothing like that movie the exorcist. I studied demons under the minister that was asked by Hollywood to consult on the exorcist..he wouldn't do it becasue they didn't portray God, Jesus, Holy Spirit, and forces of darkness scripturally. I've had it be where 6 men could not hold someone down during deliverance. And, I've had it where you would think nothing happened but yet the power of Jesus cast the demon out. So, what are the other 5 states of demonic attack??? Have you faced demons and cast them out in the name of Jesus.?? For me there is no doubt I was saved as a young child..no doubt at all. There is no doubt there is a God.....He sends fire There is a satan and demons.. No doubts..not even a shaddow of a doubt.......none. There cannot be a demon in your spirit... I didn't say that...but there is more than spirit in us. God Bless
