I do drive a car and the concept is radically different.

I am required to buy car insurance only as a minimal protection to OTHER PEOPLE, not to myself. If I choose not to protect my own self with car insurance, that's my prerogative.

There is no comparison, whatsoever. This argument has been shot down by even knowledgeable liberal supporters of the reform measure (e.g., Aaron Carroll).

In fact, there is a better (but still wrong) argument to be made. But I don't feel the need to make it for you.
