One has to decide what is more important - being a blind party hack or a pragmatist, seeking results. A blind Dem party hack would leave the cost untouched, knowing a big chunke of it will return as Dem party campaign contribution from trial lawyers. A pragmatist would want to see this cost minimized. I take it you are now firmly in the former category...
