Over the last few years most casinos have changed their single deck games to pay only 6/5 on a natural 21 rather than 3/2. This destroys the game and makes it almost unbeatable. 3/2 blackjack can have a house edge of 0.2%; with 6/5 it goes to 1.59%. Most of the 6/8 deckers I've seen are still 3/2 but these games are very difficult to beat with card counting because of the cut card placement.

I find even with the multi deck shoes that if you play by the rules......taking a hit when that seems like it will be painful etc.......you tend to win.....so long as you know when to pull back your bid or add to it, depending on the cards.

Thanks for that overview. So, if I understand you correctly, craps has better odds than blackjack with 6/8 decks? But certain video poker games are even better?

hard to find single deck games and the ones I found used the yellow placement card so you never get to the last cards in the deck where you can make your money counting cards
