if you can find a 2-3 dollar 100 odds table your odds bet will be only 2-300. But most are 15-25 dollar tables so you have to put up 15-2500 on the odds bet. so on a 15 bet you get the true odds on 1500 and even money on the 15 bucks, and if the come(don'tcome) is a 6 or 8 that's a tiny edge the house is getting on your 1515 bet

Some progressive slots have a positive expected return for the player when the slot jackpot gets really large. Its ok for the casino, since the expected return is negative (house edge is positive) as the jackpot builds up, and then they only pay out one big jackpot before everything starts over again. (And of course your chance of winning that jackpot is very small, and usually the positive expected return is rather small as well.)
