My kids watch tv.. but quite frankly they rarely have two evenings free in any given week.. most weekend mornings are booked also. So when they have the chance it is a savoured luxury.. I hear about all the tv time the average kid is supposedly watching and I shake my head.. sounds to me like parents abrogating responsibility.. I certainly would not go as far as Seeker.. but I will say.. Nothing in our house is planned around television.. it is solely a catch as one can luxury.. Funny.. on Saturday I went to the dump with the fruits of garage cleaning.. among the recyclables were two old tvs, one black and white .. We have two televisions in the house.. an 8 year old 32in tube and an ancient heat producing 25+ year old 19in.. :O) fully 70% of the television in our house is BNN... that would be me.. and that's work ;o)

Nope.

None of the above. Well, maybe food.

The secret to kids is to spend time with them. Time is the most precious commodity, more precious even than TJ's gold.

Period.

Full stop.

Spend enough time with your kids and the rest of things should take care of themselves quite nicely.
