Yes, 1850 was during the Little Ice Age. I would certainly hope that there would be an upward trend from the Little Ice Age, back to "normal" rather to a full fledged Ice Age...

If you cherry pick your starting and ending point, you can come up with any conclusion you want.

If you pick Arnold Schwartzenegger's intense muscle gain phase of his training, you could say that by the age of 60, his thigh would be the size of a tree trunk.

If you picked the years after his active training, you could say that by the age of 60, his thigh would be the size of tooth pick.

That is the how the alarmists operate.
