After The Gold Rush:

VXX remains depressed as traders have concluded that no significant downside potential for the equity market exists at the current time. However, the rally in the US Dollar Index is signaling that risk has increased substantially. Just because stock indices have not yet responded negatively, does not mean there is nothing to fear. A similar conclusion was reached in August 2008. The decline in the POG and the miners is likewise confirming that risk lies ahead.

VXX is highly volatile. The key is slow gradual accumulation. I expect new all time highs in VXX once the next leg down begins in earnest in 2010 (late summer 2010?).

I understand that very few look that far out. But I have respect for delayed reactions.
