Greg, Mock me now, mammal-boy. Your day will come.
Get used to working my remote control (it's programmable, ya know).

I think you are referring to the Spice Chicken Girls.
We are making inroads into the pop music culture.

Greg,
It is not uncommon in India to wash the unplucked chicken with tumeric before they cut them into pieces. Some people wash it with
turmeric after cutting into pieces. Also it is very common to add a
speck of turmetic powder while cooking the chicken.
Do you know that turmeric has been used in various forms in India
for centuries and an Aemrican company recently patented the use
turmeric at large. There was a big patent dispute etc.
Most earlier generation women (not the recent soap/powder/sampoo/purfume culture) usually apply turmeric paste before they take bath. Yes turmeric has a lot of precedence in India.
Last Friday NPR had a story on unconventional medicines and turmeric
is one of the medicines.

I still use a bit of turmeric powder when I cook chicken and some itmes wash it with turmeric if I feel it is not as fresh as I would like to.

All the best.
