Ted, > That's how cautious the more responsible medical people are in LA because of all the abuse that is happening around them.

Trust me, I know all about this. My wife the pharmacist had to follow special rules with prescription medications that were classified as narcotics. They had to be put into a safe which only a few staff members at the pharmacy had access to. You can guess why.

Then there were those patients who ran out of their prescription painkiller medications screaming for their refills. Cause you know, it was the pharmacist's fault that these patients neglected to come in before it was too late. Or that these patients were experiencing withdrawal symptoms ...

Yup. At one point when I lived in LA, I bought a condo in a decent building in Los Feliz. I had been living there for about two weeks when I came home and some normal looking guy was piling up the contents of his fridge outside his front door. The next day people came and took him away. It turns out that in the weeks before he had been sitting in front of window in his condo with the palms of his hands together and facing him........for hours. He looked at his palms like they were mirrors and using them to look into other condos. It was crazy. His condo overlooked the pool and people would come out and watch him looking at his palms and have a good laugh. It turned out he was strung out on crystal meth snd he never came back. This kind of stuff happened all the time in LA. You never knew when someone would lose it. People would be doing lines at work in the bathroom. It was like a zoo for druggies.
