well it helped the sellers unload..i guess in my daughter's case had the renters used it to BUY her condo, she would have benefited *somewhat*

i was actually surprised she was able to rent it at the price she got, even more surprised that the couple renting didn't go ahead and purchase as the rent/buy equivalent is somewhat higher than purchasing with rates this low....she checked the credit scores/income and it was excellent, so they could have easily qualified (well i should say easily assuming there was some kind of downpayment)....so i can only conclude that they are 'only renting' right now for other reason....she got a year's lease, so assuming they stay, she has a year's reprieve
